Bathlodge Shooting of September 21, 2026

Overview

At approximately 11:30 PM on Monday, September 21, 2026, three masked intruders armed with firearms forced entry into a private home in Bathlodge and opened fire on the occupants inside.

The attack resulted in the death of 20-year-old expectant mother Saquania Anthony and left two others wounded, including a 13-year-old boy. One suspect, 20-year-old Jaquan Shaw of Cashew Hill, has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder and remanded to prison.

According to public statements from National Security Minister Sir Steadroy "Cutie" Benjamin, the shooting reportedly stemmed from an earlier argument involving an individual who was not present in the home when the gunmen attacked.
